Health Promotion and Community Development
Our Infoline (1-800-665-2437) provides information about HIV/AIDS, safer sex, HIV testing or transmission, STIs, harm reduction, and more. All calls are confidential and are administered by trained volunteers and staff. The Infoline is staffed by Educators qualified to answer your questions and make appropriate referrals Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm.
Our Education Creative Network arranges HIV/AIDS and related presentations (by appointment) for schools, workplaces, and other community organizations. Trained and qualified Speakers address a variety of topics and present to a wide range of audiences, including children as young as five.
We provide information on HIV/AIDS and related issues, including programs and services at health fairs and other public forums throughout the year. For more information on workshop topics and how to book a speaker, click here.
The Men's Wellness Program offers support, information and outreach to Gay, Bi and men who have sex with men (in order to reduce their risk of infection and promote wellness) as well as HIV+ gay or bisexual men. The Men's Wellness Program provides four health and community-development focused Forums per year for gay men, provides condom/lube packs to gay men's venues, operates several groups and provides outreach and support to gay and bi men.
The Queer Youth Community Development Program works to prevent HIV infection among queer youth on Vancouver Island. Unfortunately this project does not have funding at this time. To find resources for youth please visit www.outspeak.ca.
