Hey all you runners and walkers, if you want to raise funds for AIDS Vancouver Island and enjoy yourself on Canada Day, check out HBC Run for Canada at:

Is this in lieu of the traditional AIDS Walk? ...and why ruin a good thing by breaking tradition?

HBC Run for Canada
No, this is not in lieu of the AIDS Walk. It is an event that many non-profits have been invited to participate in. This is the first year for the HBC Run for Canada and expect we'll see it again next year.
As for the AIDS Walk. Last year, AIDS Vancouver Island, Victoria AIDS Resource Community services (VARCS) and Vancouver Island Persons Living with HIV/AIDS Society (VIPWA) jointly changed the local AIDS Walk to become an event known as, MasquerAIDS. This year we are following the same format of event with individuals raising money for all three organizations. MasquerAIDS will take place on Saturday, Sept. 10. More information to follow on this website soon.
