Dana Becker, Manager - AVI Health Centre

Dana Becker has been with AIDS Vancouver Island's Nanaimo office since it opened on December 1, 1995. Previously, Dana coordinated the Nanaimo & District AIDS Collective (NADAC) a small volunteer organization that was founded in 1991 and merged with AVI to open the AVI Nanaimo office.

Dana was integral in getting the new AVI Health Centre (Nanaimo) opened, which provides medical treatment and counselling to people who use opiates, and providing hepatitis C and HIV treatment. The AVI Health Centre opened on December 1, 2003.

As Manager of the AVI Health Centre, Dana is responsible for the day-to-day operations and administration of the AVI Health Centre, and takes care of all program issues. As well, Dana still works on human resource management and policy and procedures for the agency.
