About This Site

This webite's design is such that you can get to anywhere, from anywhere. The navigation links available in the right column provide easy access to our recent headlines, our events listing (calendar), the most active forum topics, as well as our current poll. This is considered our "interactive content."

The "Quick Links" at the top of the left column offer agency-at-a-glance access to our website — similar to an online brochure — making it easy to browse our
staff listing, find our
contact info, or discover our individual programs and services. Links on the left are generally considered to be "non-interactive."

www.AVI.org has been created using a powerful content management system called Drupal. Drupal is open-source, online community-building software which allows for content to be added to our website easily. This content can be anything from text, files, and images. With Drupal's powerful content management features, it's easy to update news articles, stories, personal journals, reference material, and even collaborative, online books — directly through any web browser, from anywhere there's web access.

Dynamic content also allows any individual (like you) to participate in community discussions, respond to our published articles, or alter the way the site is navigated. However, you can only participate if you make an account. Creating an account requries that you submit a valid, working email address so we can provide your initial password. Any personal information you submit during our registration is protected by our privacy policy. In fact, your registeration can be completely anonymous, save for the email address — which remains hidden from all other users and, in accordance with our privacy policy, won't ever be made available to third parties. That's our solemn promise.

Of course, community building tools are only powerful if there's a community to make use of them -- and so we cordially invite you join us in our online community!
